Solar Eclipse Celebration
August 21st marks an exciting event for Americans! It's the first time since 1976 that we'll have the opportunity to see a total solar eclipse!
A total solar eclipse means that the sun and the moon align perfectly with earth to create a spectacular sight.
The most amazing views are going to be from the highest points - we're celebrating at the Fire Tower at the Thompson Park Zoo (where you can see the entire city of Watertown and the sun at the same time!)
Come and enjoy an afternoon of sun/moon themed crafts, snacks, and meet some animals. We'll have NASA approved sunglasses available for optimal viewing. Observe the sun from the ground or from the Fire Tower - either way the view will be amazing.
Enjoy refreshements and sun/moon cookies from April's Cake Shop! (while supplies last)
