Education and Programs

Whether you want to bring your group to us or have us bring the animals to you, our education programs are a fun and fascinating way for children to learn more about animals, nature, and life at the New York State Zoo.

Types of Programs:

Outreach

Sit back and let us bring the animals to you! Choose from our education program offerings and get a presentation that will meet your educational needs. Presentations are 30-45 minutes long and include four live animal demonstrations.

Booths

Are you having a community event? Let us set up a booth! We will bring a wide variety of biological artifacts and even live animals! Booths can be 2 or 4 hours in length, giving the audience has plenty of time to stop by, learn, and see for themselves some animals of the New York State Zoo!

Field Trips

Bring your class, youth group, scout troop, assisted living community, or any other group of 15 or more and get twice the fun! Your group will receive a discounted admission rate, with the option of adding an education program of your choice with live animal encounters. You may also bring your students for an education program only, without zoo admission. There is plenty of green picnic space for your group to enjoy lunch on our grounds.
