Directions to the New York State Zoo at Thompson Park:
The Zoo is located in historic Thompson Park, which was designed by the sons of Frederick Law Olmsted, the “father of landscape architecture,’’ who designed Central Park in New York City.  The park also includes a large playground, tennis courts, swimming pool and an 18-hole golf course. 

From North or South on Rte. 81, take exit 45 (Arsenal Street/Rte. 3).  Go East on Arsenal Street through Public Square in downtown Watertown.  Continue East, Arsenal Street becomes State Street (Rte. 3).  Go approximately 10 city blocks to Park Drive (Thompson Park Entrance) and watch for Zoo signs within the park. 

From East of Watertown, take Rte. 12 North or Rte. 3 West into Watertown to intersection of Rtes. 3 & 12 at State Street.  Go West on State Street about six blocks to Park Drive (Thompson Park Entrance) and watch for Zoo signs within the park. 

From Rte. 11 (Washington Street) turn onto Thompson Boulevard then turn right onto Gotham Street, take your first left turning into Thompson Park and watch for Zoo signs within the park.
